Mount Nebo in Jordan is a mountain range located a few kilometers west of the city of Madaba.
At 817 meters above sea level, it offers a privileged view of the Holy Land.
This was the final stop of Moses’ journey, leading the Jewish people through the desert after liberation from Egyptian rule.
On one of the highest points of the mountain, at the summit of Syagha, the remains of an ancient monastery were unearthed in 1933.
The original church dates back to the 4th century and commemorated the death of Moses.
The building follows the architectural layout typical of a Christian basilica.
The project included the restoration of the Moses church and the installation of new HVAC, electrical, mosaic lighting, and fire protection systems.
